Commander Cassandra Chronos: bio information
Cassandra was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. She has lived in Toronto, Ontario, and fifteen different Ohio cities, now calling central Ohio her home.
Cassandra is an RN and has been working in health care for 36 years. Her early career was in the field of trauma, where she obtained her EMT-Paramedic licensure, then RN licensure, and continued to work on both pre-hospital crews and in the ER until 1990.
Cassandra remained in nursing and health care but changed her career focus after 1990. She managed a small intraoperative autologous transfusion service program for local hospital operating rooms in northwest Ohio for about a year. She then began working under a federal grant from the CDC, providing disease prevention services and training. She has maintained that public health focus over the past twenty years, working in disease prevention and treatment, program management, training, client centered counseling, consulting, program development and quality management. She has worked for the Ohio Department of Health for the past twelve years and is currently a program consultant in the Division of Prevention.
Cassandra grew up loving science fiction and fantasy novels. She devoured every hour of television shows like One Step Beyond, The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, The Prisoner, The Avengers, Dr. Who, Lost in Space, The Invaders, Time Tunnel, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, and of course, our beloved Star Trek. She is an avid fan of all of the Trek series, but when forced to pick just one she will usually confess to being a “Niner”.
Cassandra was a member of the International Federation of Trekkers for two years before joining STARFLEET International in 2009.
Cassandra has also pursued independent studies based on her own interests over time. These interests include: astronomy; cosmology; the history of NASA and space flight; quantum mechanics – including quantum theory, string theory, and membrane theory; birdwatching; Japanese culture; Aikido; Iaido; bladed weapons; the works of Joseph Campbell; mythology – including Aboriginal, Celtic, Goddess, Native American, Norse, and pre-Christian; and shamanism – including shamanic techniques and drumming circles.
Cassandra and her partner share a blended family with one son, three daughters, five grandchildren, a Maine Coon cat and a Pekingese dog. They also enjoy perennial gardening and frequent visits from the many bird and butterfly species that visit all the plants...
Commander Cassandra Chronos: alter ego profile

Character Profile: Cassandra Chronos
The Chronos symbiont has been alive for 725 years.
Commander Chronos is the 12th host, and most likely the last.
The Terran year was 1663 when the Guardians first took Chronos from the pools in the Caves of Mak’ala to be joined to the first host, Jarla. By the time Chronos was joined with Cassandra, the Terran year was 2354 and Cassandra was 23 years old. That was 32 years ago…

Such an old spirit in such a young woman proved to be a difficult challenge for the young Trill, yet she naturally warmed to the symbiont with resilience and determination. The changes in life perspective, and the presence of sudden wisdom in the interaction with multiple sentient and non-sentient species was nothing short of astounding.
Cassandra had attended the Trill Science Ministry from the age of seventeen until three years after she was joined, specializing first in biomedical sciences and later in multi-species cultural diversity. By 2359 she made the decision to join Starfleet and consequently attended Starfleet Medical Academy until the completion of her doctorate.
She was assigned to the USS Centaur NCC-42043 and promoted to Lt. Commander and Chief Medical Officer, while still serving Starfleet Medical as the Alpha Quadrant liaison for the Interspecies Medical Exchange Program.
There is a long story behind the fact that she will be the last host for the Chronos symbiont.
Her current post is Chief of Communications, Commander, on board the USS Asgard NCC-72402.
But we have to leave some of the story open for a chat some evening over a good cup of Raktajino, eh?
More to tell… but duty calls for now.
