About the Asgard and STARFLEET International

STARFLEET International, the world's largest fan run Star Trek fan organization, was founded in 1974 and provides its membership with a common interest:  appreciation of over 40 years of Star Trek ~ The Greatest Human Adventure.  Hundreds of chapters in Regions worldwide unite their members in local, regional and international STARFLEET activities.

                                   

STARFLEET members routinely meet and discuss Star Trek and other science fiction shows, movies, books and internet media.  We do charity work within our own communities, attend STARFLEET Academy or become STARFLEET Marines, and attend conventions together.  We hold fictional ranks and positions on board our ships (chapters), and many volunteer for real positions within our chapters, in our Region or in the international organization.

Most importantly, we have FUN!

STARLEET's Region One, also known as the "First Fleet", includes all chapters in the following eight states:  Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.  Sector One of Region One includes all chapters in Indiana and Ohio.  The USS Asgard is therefore a ship in the First Fleet, Sector One.

               

Our beloved starship, the USS Asgard NCC~72402, was commissioned in Lancaster, in central Ohio, on August 8th, 1999, so this is our ELEVENTH ANNIVERSARY!  She is a Capital Class Mark I vessel, officially designated as a "Heavy Space Control Ship" by STARFLEET International. 

     







 





Our Commanding Officer is Captain Ralph A. Winans III, and our Executive / First Officer is Commander Isa Gunther.  Our ship's motto is "Flight Into The Starlight."  The officers and crew meet monthly on the fourth Saturday of the month at 5:00pm.  Our current meeting site is at StarBase Columbus, 5541 Westerville Rd. in Westerville, Ohio.  We meet in the large white building to the rear of the store, where you'll see a sign on the right side of the building designating it as "Area 51 and 3/4."  

We are currently working very hard to reboot the Asgard and to make it one of the most dynamic and vibrant ships in the Star Trek universe!  We intend to ignite that "galactic spark" in all Star Trek and sci-fi fans in the area and make this ship the finest in the First Fleet.
